Chacala Bay is located on the Mexican Riviera along Highway 200, one and a half hours north of Puerto Vallarta and 45 minutes north of Sayulita. The traveler arrives at the Puerto Vallarta airport then departs via bus, rental car or Chacala taxi. The route hugs the coastline leaving the bustle of Puerto Vallarta behind while driving past popular spots like Bucerias, Punta de Mita, Sayulita, San Francisco, Rincon Guayabitos and La Penita. At the intersection of Highway 200 and Chacala, turn left towards the ocean coming from the south and turn right coming from the north. The signpost is no longer on the highway going north. Look for the two-story Hotel Dona Maria on the left and many fruit stands on the right. Turn left before the hotel, drive 6 miles through mango orchards, past a lake, cresting atop a knoll overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Follow the road sign that says “Marina Chacala.” At the end of the road, turn right at our sign that says Chacala Real Estate / Casa Pacifica. Or, if you need to find our rentals office, turn left, and then left again immediately into the driveway for Caballito del Mar Posada & Chacala Vacation Rentals.
Directions from Guadalajara, San Blas and Tepic are available upon request as are more details regarding different forms of transportation. Karla Lawler can help you make taxi arrangements.
