The local pharmacies are in Las Varas, a 20 minute drive from Playa Chacala. Many products can be purchased there including antibiotics. If you need to see a doctor, Chacala has its own clinic which is staffed by a junior doctor 6 days per week. There is also a private doctor available who specializes in homeopathic remedies, Dr. Jorge. In an emergency the nearest hospital with x ray facilities is in La Penita. There is also a hospital in Las Varas for other medical conditions.
